Writing is Hard

I've been writing a piece (as yet unposted to the writing blog) for the last six years. I'm making wonderful progress on it, it's about 6 pages long and over 800+ words. So I'm averaging about one page a year. Not a very efficient ratio of time to words. Sometimes a piece will just write itself. Sometimes you have to drag it kicking and screaming to the page. I've changed the character's names 45 times, and rewritten it 1st and 3rd person 4 times each, but it won't finish, and it won't let me put it away.

It haunts me. I hate it. But I'm in love with it too.

Writing is hard.

Welcome to Hell! Enjoy your stay! By the way, our air conditioner is broke and we have no intention of fixing it. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have an appointment to go poke Mister Crowley with a very sharp pitchfork.

I understand. There are times when the words spill out of me and I cannot keep up with the tide and then it is as if it is totally blocked off.

The faucet is broken and I cannot get it to work. The hardest part to me is that sometimes I feel as if I am working on something brilliant and then I lose my train of thought and I never quite regain it.

Keep plugging away and you never know what can happen.
